They tasted even better as leftovers - and I ended up making a batch of rosemary cornbread to go with it! With a toddler in the house, as long as she's willing to eat something we're happy.

I'm not sure how romantic baked beans are, but if they make you happy I think that's all you need.

Crazy that our anniversary is so close! Did you guys get married in Chicago? We got married in Florida. Chicago was too expensive so it was either Jon's hometown (Fargo!) or mine.

Hello

Thank you sooooo much for your article. I was Chris Jordan's photographic assistant on Midway when those photos were taken.

However I would rename your article to "please, please please please please REFUSE!!."

It is essential to understand that the issue of plastic pollution is not a problem of proper disposal, or of lack of recycling. It is a matter of a changing throaway habits that our planet cannot sustain.

In fact, collecting plastics at curbside fosters the belief that, like aluminum and glass, these will be converted into new similar objects. In fact, the vast majority of the recovered single use plastics are not made into similar products, but into secondary products such as textiles or plastic lumber – all of which are unrecyclable. A large share of "recyclable" plastics are in fact landfilled or exported to developing countries.

Perpetuating the myth of plastic recycling creates a smoke curtain that delays the adoption of effective and sustainable solutions, such as the phasing out of single use plastics.

Thank you again so much for being touched by this subject and for spreading the word! There is a long road ahead of us as far as comprehending this problem and understanding the best ways to tackle it. We are all together in this,

Best regards,

-Manuel
